Through last night and this morning, we have started to experience the effects of trade wind showers. Last night we had to deal with a couple of them before we ended up on port tack that will mostly bring us toward the doldrums. We also saw Team AkzoNobel last evening, and today we are in visual sight of Vestas 11th Hour Racing.
The trade wind shower clouds have been a minefield through our track this morning, with 25 knots puffs followed by much lighter winds. As I write this, it looks we are having a bit of a break in the shower activity, after intense hours of work throughout this morning.
Winds now are starting to diminish slightly, after a quick windy first couple of days of the leg.
Live on board is good, fully into the routine of a long ocean leg.
