Things haven’t changed much since the start. The fleet sails together without major changes to it. Some sail changes but nothing out of the usual.
With the shift we slowly gain East and North. The heat is there and warns us that the Equator will be tough. When we turn on the engine so as to load batteries the boat turns into Hell inside and you immediately start sweating.
Just a few of the guys still have their t-shirts on, and they all drink lots of water, much more than in the past legs.
The second night onboard MAFPRE went really well. The guys are in really good spirits and focused. Adaptating through the night wasn’t as bad as usual for since the start we’ve only sailed a straight line. Last night was overcast and without stars, and we sailed upwind.
In the afternoon we had some surprises, Jean-Luc produced a bag of French crepes from Brittany, Xabi a pot of Nutella someone gave him right before the start, and I had brought some dulce de leche from home. The guys broke into smiles as they saw it and jumped onto it, sugar thirsty.
That distracted them for a while and it was nice as Ñeti and Willy got the crepes ready among laughs, jokes, and a really upbeat mood.
