Human nature: you love what you don’t have
I’m not saying we lack food, we eat very well indeed, and the conditions are perfect to have one feast after another. Eating kills anxiety and boredom, entertains your mouth, but it also keeps you thinking about food. On days like today food is your best friend or your worst enemy: you never seem to have enough chocolate, we have main courses more than twice and the ham just disappears.
No waves, little wind from the aft, and one of our opponents less than a mile ahead … Luckily we can not eat your fingers because we’d all be crippled.
Regarding the role I spoke about yesterday, it has not yet arrived… We’re still waiting, it slowly comes and goes. With a wind direction of 190 °, Jean Luc and Iker have to either keep waiting or take another option. So far waiting next to Team Brunel seems to be the best one.
Abu Dhabi gybed at noon, making us think that depending on the wind direction joining Alvimedica’s line could be a good option; there seemed to be more wind there.
Hours later the wind shifted to the 220 ° thus helping us to gradually sail downwards and cross the high pressure.
There’s about 1000 miles left to Portugal, about 4 days, and MAPFRE sails the Atlantic waters hand in hand with Team Brunel.
As a prisoner sands bars to set himself free, we are working so that this leg works better for us than for them.
A good Sunday to you all!
