Dear Southern Ocean,
Our crew would like to thank you for keeping the chocolate cold. Simple things become extra special out here, you have taught us that. We need the extra energy. Now that the gybing party down the Ice Gate is over it’s time to focus on the battle ahead.
Our friends on Dongfeng are sailing quite well, we are bringing out the best in each other. The challenge has been to be ready with the right gear on and right sails but we made a few mistakes and lost a little. We would prefer to be the hunted and not be doing the hunting at this point but there is still a lot of opportunities over the next 6 days.
Our Skipper believes anything is possible, “I think the crew is performing 100% since the start, we just take the boat fast everyday, the performance of the boat increases and we know this has to go like this all the way the finish of the race but I see everyone super motivated and hungry we really think we can win this leg that is why we keep pushing and I think it is possible”
