After a few days heading SSW with the SE trades and easterly winds along the coast of Brazil, we finally start heading south today, as the wind starts backing NE today, and we are finally making some progress towards Cape Town. After the Doldrums, the route was set to go around the St. Helen high pressure, but not getting much nearer to our destination.

Also, after a couple of days not seeing any other boat, we spotted DFRT light through the night and could have visual sight of her today.

Weather is still warm and nice, and gives us a good break to set the boat up ready for the Southern Ocean part of the leg, just a few days away.

Everything is good onboard MAPFRE, spirits are high and willing to get to Cape Town quick.
